Marius Swart owns and rallies the only fully FIA homologated S2000 rally car in Australia, a VW Polo S2000 which he imported as an ex-works car from VW Racing South Africa in 2008.
Marius does all of the preparation work on the car himself with expert help from Brian Loopstra and Chris Scott. He started rallying in South Africa in 1995 as a navigator and then built his 1st rally car - a 1973 Alfa Giulia which he started driving in 1996 and moved up through the ranks with his last car, a N4 Subaru WRX, before relocating to Australia in 2003. Gerard joined the team from the very first rally in 2008 as a very competent and enthusiastic co-driver and also introduced Des and Denise Collins and Chris Scott to the team. Brian Loopstra has been involved with rallying since the late 1970's and also rallied an Opel 2.0L Superboss very succesfully. Joyce has enthusiastically joined the team in 2010 and hopes to start driving a Honda Civic VTEC shortly with help from Marius. |
